About Ramsay

Ramsay Township is part of Mississippi Mills in Eastern Ontario and home to several urban thriving communities including Almonte, Appleton, Clayton and Blakeney. The first organized settlements occurred in the 1820′s when many families from Scotland and Ireland emigrated. One of the first trails to be laid out as a road when the forests on the north side of Carleton Place were opened for settlement is still in use in Ramsay township now called the Old Perth Road.
