Midsummer Herbfest

Herbfest, an Ottawa Valley tradition, returned for its twentieth year in 2015.

It is a one-day must-attend event for those interested in herbs, gardening, cooking and living a healthy lifestyle. It is held on the grounds of The Herb Garden, a privately owned AGRI-tourist destination in an idyllic rural setting that provides for a unique rural ambiance.

Visitor participation is an important feature of Herbfest. The popular Chef Cook-off, boasting two esteemed local chefs, and uses audience members as judges. As well, a series of educational lectures and demonstrations attract large numbers of participants and natural therapy practitioners offer demonstrations of healing techniques.

Throughout the day, enjoy live entertainment, guided herbal walks, face painting, henna tattoos and dancing fairies flitting through the gardens. Enjoy a quiet rest in the gazebo, do yoga in the gardens, walk the Wetland Trail or just meander through the beautifully landscaped herb garden beds. Shop local at the outdoor marketplace, home to over 100 vendors and artisans offering a variety of goods including herbal, eco-friendly and healthy living related products and services.
